The second photo with the umbrela and the workmen is interesting, is that an electrical conduit line and what is the dull red construction mostly hidden by the recent walls?
You are correct about the electrical cable. It goes to KV-8 - the tomb in the background. Guess that I do not see your 'dull red'.
