It is the only railway within an Egptian Tomb and the video is wll worth watching for news on the restoration of the tunnel in KV17 (the tomb of Seti I). There is no news on what may be found at the end but Dr Hawass is still speculating that there may be a secret burial of Seti I. I suspect that he has, by now, actually reached the end of the tunnel and knows what is there ... but I suspect we will have to wait a while before we find out.

intriguing.
Thank you very much for posting this. I kind of like Hawass' narration, it was informative yet entertaining - he is a good speaker.
I noticed some stairs being uncovered, i am wondering if this is somewhere at the end of the tunnel.
Wonder if SCA will make the rail cars over to haul tourists out of the tunnel? after the trip down? The air must be pretty bad that far down.

Not sure about that, Dennis. AFAIK, Seti's tomb will remain closed to the public, due to the precarious condition the fragile walls & ceilings are in...
Dennis i disagree also with your opinion that tourists may in future use this railway. If you look at the photos of the tunnel dimensions it is clear that the purpose of the system is to facillitate the removal of waste only.

I believe you are correct about the RR. I must be going through withdrawal symptoms now that most of the digs have stopped for the season. OH, to live again when next season's discoveries bring new life to me!
its great isnt it Dennis speculating what gaps of knowledge will be filled in by the new seasons discoveries, regards
Hi Anon
For myself, I will not speculate on what will be found (except to make some lame joke). I get rather upset by the current backwards archeology showing up on the tube. An example being the show on a mummy that identified as Nefertiti. Seemed like someone had a need to find Nefertiti. That person then went through available mummies, selecting one. The selected mummy was then declared Nefertiti based on the face reconstruction technique that proved king tut looked like a happy frenchman.
