I'm still here but there's very little news. About the only thing is a suggestion that the results of DNA testing on the mummy of Tutankhamun and others won't now be announced until February 2010. (((sigh)))

Roll on next dig season...
Kate,
I do think it is interesting that, per an article in the ART NEWSPAPER - posted May 25, Eton College is returning more then 454 antiquities to Egypt that may have been illegally exported. And guess who the curator of the museum is? It's non other an Dr. Nicholas Reeves. Is Dr. Reeves trying to get on the good side of Dr. Hawass. Maybe this is a peace offering between the two, so Nicholas can get back into the valley to help Zahi interpert the 2000-2002 data from the GPR readings. Not that he, Dr. Reeves, would be allowed to do any digging himself, but he may be asked to supervise an All Egyptian Excavation Team under the overall direction of Dr. Hawass. Time well tell. Just a thought.

I am not so sure that DNA can be extracted from Tutankhamuns mummy. It looks more like charcoal than dried skin.
