The fires were doused according to the BBC web site and the Museum was not affected but Im rushing home now to get the television on.
Old news now as the Museum is safe ... for now ... but for posterity's sake, here is a video which indicates the danger. It looks as though the army was extinguisig fires very fast, but it is a very good job they were there with a water canon.
