In the bad old days (sorry, there's no date attached), Hawass announced a very similar find. I wonder if it's a repetition. The SCA site is not informative, by the way. Is there no one in Egypt who can design and run a decent website? On the other hand, the BM is down today...

The news about the statue was given out by the Egypt State Information Service last Friday (quoted on the excellent "Egyptology News" website), so is probably correct. The mortuary temple is turning out to be a veritable mine of ancient relics.
