Interview with Dr Salima Ikram from Discovery News.  There is an associated arricle to read as well.

This includes mention that there was an attack on a magazine in Middle Egypt but again it was repulsed by locals and SCA staff. Dr Ikram is asking for the international community to refrain from buying ancient Egypt artefacts until an inventory of stolen items can be prepared, and in particular:

  • Old Kingdom items, and
  • New Kingdom items from Memphis

In case you are interested, Boris Trivan posted at 5pm UK time (7pm Egyptian) in a comment on Andie's blog to say:

All is fine in the Amarna dig house. Professor Kemp is there at the moment.

Salima Ikram is well and back in Cairo.
